The notes in many Bible versions say that Mark 16:9-20 was not a part of the original Gospel written by Mark. It appears to have been compiled early in the second century based primarily on the other Gospels. Because of that, its basic message is still true, right, and beneficial. But there is another way of thinking about how the Gospel of Mark ends that may be better and closer to the spirit of the book of Mark as a whole.
