Mark's narration of the gospel culminates with the death and resurrection of Jesus. Other parts of Scripture tell us overtly the meaning and significance of these profound events. But the story itself, as Mark tells it, also reveals the meaning, if you read closely. Today we will read and consider the meaning of the crucifixion of Christ as reported by Mark. These events can and should affect us deeply and profoundly.
